What is a security bond and how much is it?

The employer is responsible for the repatriation of the maid once the usual contract of 2 years expires unless it is renewed.

He is required to post a security deposit (bond) of $5,000 for every maid with the Work Permit Department, MOM. If the employer fails to repatriate the maid after the cancellation of her work permit, there is a risk of losing the $5,000 security deposit.
